M&R Drywall & Metal Stud, Inc. was organized in 1985 and incorporated in 1991 to fill a perceived void in the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan commercial construction market: the presence of a firm experienced and capable enough to provide high-performance metal studs, light and heavy gauge, acoustical ceilings, and drywall with the personalized service one would expect from a smaller company. The organization found itself well received in its first year and, consequently, its sales volume and earnings doubled over the projections it had set.
